Welcome back to the latest edition of the ILF newsletter!
Today, we want to bring to your attention a very important campaign that you can help with. The ILF has been raising money to provide night vision devices (NVD) to our soldiers fighting to defend Ukraine, and we have just launched a campaign to purchase two PVS 14 devices for the troops of the 20th Special Task Battalion.

NVDs allow soldiers to operate under the cover of dark, increasing their survivability, as well their ability as to spot the enemy at night. This gives them a tactical edge that their adversaries may not have. But not all NVDs are equal. The PVS-14 is among the most highly requested night NVDs among soldiers serving at the front and is the standard NVD used by NATO forces.
Incredibly, we already have enough for one PVS-14, but we need your help raising $2600 for the other one. Any contribution that you can make will go directly towards the purchase of a PVS-14 for the 20th Special Task Battalion. No contribution is too small, and every little bit adds up. So please consider donating and together we can help our troops stay alive and liberate the occupied territories.
ILF Delivers!
In addition to our NVG campaign, the ILF continues its longstanding work supporting the International Legion of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU). This week, we delivered medical supplies to the Reconnaissance Team “Kilo”, incl. compression bandages, trauma dressings, combat gauzes, chest seals and advanced hygiene kits. Moreover, thanks to the help of our friends at Ukraine Defense Support, the legionnaires also received an AGM ASP-Micro Thermal Imaging Monocular NVG.
This is the kind of aid that ILF provides to the troops every day, and your generous support helps us provide it.
Colors of Freedom
On September 16th the ILF hosted a “Colors of Freedom” shell-painting night in Lviv, following up on a successful earlier event in Kyiv. Many students from the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) attended, and as you can see the shells came out beautifully!
Also in attendance was our friend Bob Wood, an American teacher from Michigan who is now teaching political science at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU). In addition to bringing his passion for teaching and for helping Ukraine, Bob brought with him a suitcase full of much-needed medical supplies.
We would especially like to extend a big thank you to Svit Kavy Kulparkivska for graciously hosting our event. All of the donations that we received were applied to our ongoing campaign to purchase NVGs for the troops.
Words to Warriors
While we were in Lviv, some of our volunteers also had the opportunity to guest teach at UCU. We wrote letters to Ukraine’s defenders, including our international defenders. The letters will be part of our new “Words to Warriors” project, which will feature letters and cards written by Ukrainian children to our defenders, both from Ukraine and around the globe.
“Dear Soldier…You are our hero. Not Spider-Man or another character. You are our hero. I wish that you will return home alive, see your family (even children), friends, relatives, an pets (maybe).”
As always, the ILF thanks you for your support for Ukraine, for the troops, and for us. Every time you share our newsletter or our social media posts, you’re helping to spread our reach, and every time you donate, your money goes directly to helping our defenders fight the invaders and come home same.
Дякую! THANK YOU!
Слава Україні! Glory to Ukraine!
